Workspaces

How a workspace holds your Geenius Chat threads and runs, who can see them, and what happens when you leave. Chat is in early access.

A workspace is the shared space your Chat threads live in. This page says how that boundary is built.

What belongs to a workspace#

Your threads and the runs inside them belong to one workspace. Messages do too: a conversation belongs to one workspace, and nobody in another workspace can find it or read it, even with its id. You see your own threads in each workspace you are a member of.

The Chat connector follows the same line. It cannot pick a workspace, and it cannot reach a workspace it is not part of. Both the workspace and who the connector is come from its sign-in.

What you see#

The thread list is yours. It is newest first, one row per conversation, loaded a page at a time. Another member of the workspace does not see your threads. Only the people in a conversation can read that conversation. Only the person who started a run can open that run, and only while they are still a member of its workspace.

If you leave#

If you leave a workspace, you no longer see its threads. Finished steps already saved stay part of that workspace's record. They do not follow you into another workspace.
